The Clash Debut Cover Photo
The location of the photo on The Clash's debut album.
Location: Stables Market, Camden
Description: This is where the photo on the front cover of The Clash's eponymous first album was taken.
The album was originally released on 8th April 1977 through CBS Records.
Kate Simon too the photo in the alleyway directly opposite the front door of the band's 'Rehearsal Rehearsals' HQ in Camden Market. The band's office was on the first floor, their rehearsal space was in the warehouse below.
You can see the steps by turning left through the market entrance and it's straight ahead.
All songs on the album were written and composed by Joe Strummer and Mick Jones. Drummer Terry Chimes though a full member of The Clash at the time, did not appear in the pic because he had just decided to leave the band.
