Nuclear Dawn Mural
A tribute to making a stand and making a difference
Location: Coldharbour Lane, SW9
Description: This mural was painted between 1981 and 1982 by Brian Barnes and Dale McCrea.
It shows a giant skeleton standing over London as the nuclear bomb goes off. The MPs and Royalty hide in a bunker depicted in the right hand side of the mural.
These figures were updated in 1986 so earlier photos show a different set of Ministers. Now in a poor state of repair it hides quietly behind a set of trees which were probably placed there to cover up the skeleton which was considered to be frightening to the local children.
