Description: Les Cousins was a folk, skiffle and blues club in the basement of Dionysus restaurant in Soho.
It opened at the peak of the British folk music revival of the mid-1960s and was notable as a venue in which musicians of that period met and learnt from each other.
It was hugely influential in the careers of, many filk artists such as Al Stewart, Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Sandy Denny, John Martyn, Alexis Korner, The Strawbs, Roy Harper and Paul Simon.
Roy Harper recorded his album Live At Les Cousins here, and a compilation was produced entitled 49 Greek Street.
Noel Murphy was the first resident musician and compere.
