The Oval
The home of Surrey County Cricket Club.
Location: Kennington Oval, Kennington
Description: The Oval, Kennington, is the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club and was the first ground in the UK and second in the world (after the Melbourne Cricket Ground) to host Test cricket.
Traditionally it also hosts the final Test match of each English summer season in late August or early September.
The Oval was also where the first ever FA Cup Final (football now, keep up!) took place in 1872, with Wanderers beating Royal Engineers 1-0.
In 1868, 20,000 spectators gathered here for the first game of the 1868 Aboriginal cricket tour of England, the first tour of England by any foreign side.
