Home to three Goons and Harry Secombe's socks
Location: 13 Linden Gardens, Notting Hill, W2 4HD
Description: Sir Harry Secombe and Spike Milligan were two parts of the four man team that made up 'The Goons' - a British radio comedy programme, originally produced and broadcast by the BBC Home Service from 1951 to 1960.
It was, and is, and always will be ground-breaking comedy that will make people smile, belly laugh and be a lot happier.
The show's chief creator and main writer was Spike Milligan. The scripts mixed ludicrous plots with surreal humour, puns, catchphrases and an array of bizarre sound effects.
And so to this very address - this is where Sir Harry and Spike once shared a flat. There were only supposed to be two people staying in the place but they managed to get three in there, 2 beds and one on the floor.
And who was the third occupant, none other than the third Goon, Michael Bentine.
Spike was obsessively tidy in those days and was always complaining about Sir Harry's socks!
