Pub designed by Joseph Paxton

Joseph Paxton's grand country house turned into a fine pub.

Location: Dulwich Wood House, 39 Sydenham Hill, Dulwich,, SE26 6RS

Description: This pub was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, architect of the 'Crystal Palace' which housed the Great Exhibition of 1851, as a grand country house.

Inside it feels like a nice country pile and features photographs of the great fire that brought down Crystal Palace.

There are some great walks around here through Sydenham Woods, and you can often find a bbq in the garden here in Summer months.
