Description: What a pub...once the haunt of numerous highwaymen. Indeed, Dick Turpin is reputed to have stored his guns here, while Jerry Abershaw was hanged from a gibbet outside.

Nowadays it is a lot more civilised...the main bar is small, there is a leafy garden at the rear, and the menu and Young's beer are very tasty.
