Toe Rag Studios
The traditional non-electronic recording studios to the stars.
Location: 166a Glynn Road, Homerton, London, e5 0je
Description: This is where the White Stripes recorded their breakthrough album Elephant in 2002. And has been a long time favourite of artist/writer/musician Billy Childish.
Toe Rag is unusual in that it pecialises in recording in the traditional, old-fashioned way. There are no leisure facilities at the studio other than a kettle and a sofa: the emphasis is very much on speed and efficiently capturing the moment as opposed to long periods of studio-bound procrastination.
