Carlton Hotel Communism

Carlton Hotel Communism

President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam rolled pastry here.

Location: Haymarket, SW1

Description: That's right... the Carlton Hotel (now demolished) in London's Haymarket did indeed have some historical Communist connections.

Back in 1913 this glorious hotel employed an apprentice pastry-chef who went onto bigger (but not better) things in South-East Asia.

President Ho Chi Minh, who once rolled pastry between his fingers, went on to rule Vietnam as it's Communist leader.
